Ben Omoregie, our Youth Without Shelter Operations Manager, has been selected as 2013 MLS (Major League Soccer) Works Community MVP representing Toronto FC! Ben, is one of 19 Community MVP’s selected across North America.
“With our youth, trust is a big issue. The majority of them have gone through traumatic experiences – family breakdown, addiction, abuse and so on. So when they come here to YWS they find a platform to begin a new life.” (Ben).
Here at YWS Ben has used soccer informally with the youth as a means to release stress and build relationships.
As a Community MVP Ben can win $10,000 for Youth Without Shelter. Ben is currently in 4th in the MLS Community MVP voting contest.
Here’s our challenge to you: if everyone receiving this email voted 25 times for Ben we could register over 40,000 votes! Just think how many that could be if you shared this email with family and friends. Post on your Facebook Page. Share via Twitter with hash tags: #TFC #CommunityMVP
Wondering who Ben is? Check out this recently aired clip on TVO and click here to read what the Etobicoke Guardian has to say about Ben being named TFC Community MVP.
Thank you for taking up this challenge and voting. $10,000 can make a world of difference in the lives of youth here at Youth Without Shelter. GO BEN GO.
